Sherlock Season 4 has been a long time coming. In fact, it's been in development for so long that it has kind-of felt like something that was still in the distant future. That is, until now.
Sherlock Series/Season 3 Episodes 1 and 2 were incomparably wonderful, nonpareil storytelling in an expanding Sahara of television. We'll get to episode 3. The story keeps halting like a bad performer who over-emotes and then stops to await applause from the audience each time. Or a rimshot after a comic's not-terribly-funny punchline.

Sherlock once again played with his drug addiction to manipulate those around him, and got the desired results, showing how much of a pawn everyone is in his life. This is particularly true of

Season 4 is not bad, it's just more action and less deduction. Also, it's pacing is different, it's a lot quicker than the previous ones. Something that really bothered me is that they exagerated everything, from Mary's backstory to Moriarty's plan and the person involved in it.

Sherlock season 1 is nearly perfect, but season 2 is the strongest, featuring the return of Moriarty and exploring themes of friendship and betrayal. It culminates in a powerful and shocking season finale. Sherlock was a groundbreaking detective series, and while the majority of its episodes were brilliant, the four seasons did vary in quality.

Sherlock won't return to our screens until 2017, but the release of the season 4 trailer at San Diego Comic-Con has ensured that the show is being talked about far and wide. A lot of the talk is speculation, of course, as it always is surrounding Sherlock, and at Comic-Con, the Sherlock producers teased fans with three clues to the season which have set tongues wagging. .
